Surrounded by fairly steep hills, the Amarnath temple is considered to be Kashmir's oldest existing temple, dating back to the 5th century. This Shiva temple is situated in a narrow gorge on the far end of Lidder Valley at an altitude of 3888 m. The 'Yatra' to Amarnath, one of the principal Hindu Dhams, starts from Chandanwari (2,895 m), 16 kms from Pahalgam, in the month of Sawan (July to August).
On arrival at airport drive to srinagar (4/5hours drive). On arrival check-in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Leave early morning for Amarnath darshan. And return back in the evening.
After breakfast leave from sounmarg and transfer to srinagar.Mughal Gardens visiting Nishat Bagh (Abode
of pleasure) built by Asif Khan brother in law of Jehangir in 1632 AD. And Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love)
built by Jehangir for his wife Empress Noor Jehan. All the gardens are situated on the bank of Dal Lake
with the Zabarwan Mountains in the background. The distance from Srinagar to the said gardens is about
12 and 15 kms respectively. Enroute visit carpet-weaving factory and old Srinagar city. Dinner overnight in
Houseboat
After Breakfast transfer to Srinagar airport .
